You can return to the program immediately by pressing the HOLD button twice. If you select the circulating fan mode your system fan will come on for 12 minutes at a user selectable interval of system off time. You can select the system off time in the user settings mode. Fan mode is selected with the fan button located on the front of the thermostat. Some heat pump systems have a system fault output that, when connected properly to your Braeburn heat pump thermostat, will indicate when there is a problem with your heat pump system.
The temperature sensed by the thermostat is lower than the 40 F 4 C lower limit of the thermostats display range. The display will return to normal after the sensed temperature raises to within the 40 to 99 F 4 to 37 C display range. Turn on the heating system or use other methods to raise the temperature. This condition could occur from the system being turned off during a cold weather period or upon installation when the thermostat has been stored for a long period of time in a cold vehicle or location prior to being installed.
Put the thermostat into the OFF mode. Remove the batteries if equipped and press the reset button located on the front of the thermostat. If the problem persists then you may have a problem with your heating system that is causing it to not operate properly. You may need to call your installer or a local service contractor in your area.
Put the thermostat in the OFF mode. Replace the batteries and move the system switch to the HEAT position and then try running your heating system furnace again. If the problem persists then you may have a problem with your heating system furnace that is causing it to run intermittently or turn off prematurely. Your thermostat may have been wired incorrectly or you are having a problem with the heating system heat pump system itself. Your thermostat is equipped with an adjustable temperature differential setting which will determine how much your system cycles.
The lower the differential setting, the more your system will cycle and the tighter the temperature will remain. If your system cycles too often, raise your differential setting to a higher degree. Your thermostat may be entering Adaptive Recovery Mode. Adaptive Recovery Mode is a feature that attempts to achieve your set-point temperature by the time you desire.
Because of this, your heat cycle might start up to 2 hours early and your cool cycle might start up to 3 hours early. This all depends on how many degrees of recovery is needed.
Many newer Braeburn models allow you to turn this feature off in the User Settings mode. Please see your users manual. Emergency Heat is a backup heating system commonly used with heat pump systems. When in Emergency Heat mode your heat pump compressor will not be activate. Emergency Heat mode is typically used when your heat pump system is not functioning or when it is too cold outside for your heat pump system to adequately maintain a comfortable temperature.
The feature can be set for 0 off , 30, 60, 90, , or days. If the heating or cooling system is not running then there most likely is a problem within the system. The feature can be set for 0 off or days. If this thermostat was just recently installed it is possible that it was not configured for the appropriate system type. If it is being installed on multistage or heat pump equipment the "System Type" option needs to be adjusted in the Installer Settings mode.
Please see the installer manual. If "-AC" appears in the display, this means that the thermostat has lost AC power from your system transformer. If you do not have a multi-stage heating or cooling system then AUX being displayed means that a multi-stage thermostat was installed on your single stage system and you will occasionally see AUX displayed on the screen, however it does not affect the function of your thermostat or system.
If your thermostat requires batteries, use only type "AA" alkaline batteries. Your thermostat may be configured for an electric furnace. Selects program day in Program setting mode.
